We are thrilled to present to you the exciting and innovative concept of "Chinatown Vibes Concerts."

This series of pop-up musical concerts is a collaborative effort organized by the Chinatown Business Improvement Area (BIA) in partnership with the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre (OCCSC), the Ottawa Chinese Musicians Association (OCMA), and various other stakeholders in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. Our mission is to promote Ottawa Chinatown as a vibrant destination for fine dining, shopping, and multicultural experiences by bringing multicultural music performances to communities across the capital region, while simultaneously shining a spotlight on the rich Chinese/Asian cultural heritages.

Frequency and Schedule: Our proposed schedule for the remainder of 2023 includes six concerts, each lasting 90 minutes. We are in the process of finding suitable venues for the concerts. A show schedule will be available here as soon as it is available. Please visit this page again and/or follow us on Instragram/Facebook/Twitter for updates.

Economic Impact for Local Businesses: Chinatown Vibes Concerts will create a positive economic impact for businesses in Chinatown. As the concerts attract a diverse audience from different parts of Ottawa/Gatineau, local businesses will have the chance to showcase their offerings and services to a broader customer base. The influx of visitors will lead to increased foot traffic, boosting sales and revenues for restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and other establishments in Chinatown.
Moreover, the exposure garnered from these events will extend beyond the concert days. As attendees become familiar with the charm and offerings of Chinatown during the concerts, they are likely to return for future visits, becoming regular patrons of the businesses in the area. The concerts, therefore, act as a catalyst for building lasting relationships with new customers, fostering brand loyalty, and enhancing the overall economic vitality of the neighborhood.

Collaborative Business Opportunities: Chinatown Vibes Concerts also present an opportunity for local businesses to collaborate and cross-promote with each other. Such collaborations not only enrich the overall experience for attendees but also strengthen the sense of community among businesses within Chinatown. The unity displayed during these events further establishes Chinatown as a tightly-knit neighborhood, fostering goodwill and camaraderie among its residents and businesses.

Cultural Appreciation and Mutual Understanding: As visitors from diverse backgrounds attend Chinatown Vibes Concerts, they will not only enjoy the performances but also gain an appreciation for Chinese/Asian culture and heritage. These events will serve as a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding, breaking down stereotypes, and fostering respect for the community. By promoting inclusivity and diversity, Chinatown Vibes Concerts contribute to building a harmonious and welcoming environment in Ottawa/Gatineau.
