🎨 About the Festival
The Chinatown Remixed Art Festival is back for 2025! Running throughout the month of October, the festival transforms Ottawa’s Chinatown into a vibrant hub of creativity, bringing together artists, performers, and community members to celebrate art, culture, and heritage.
Now in its latest edition, Chinatown Remixed continues its tradition of showcasing diverse voices, encouraging cross-cultural dialogue, and highlighting the unique character of Chinatown as both a local neighbourhood and a multicultural destination.

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025
Location: Yet Keen Senior’s Day Centre, 755 Somerset St W
The festival opens with a day of special programming, including film, art, food, and hands-on workshops. Join us for the Official Speeches and Launch Ceremony at 1:00 PM, alongside community leaders, artists, and special guests.

Film screening followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Jack Gin.
By donation (suggested $5). Registration required.

Community Art Exhibition & Mid-Autumn Festival Snacks
Featuring artwork created by seniors, inspired by Chinese Canadian artists, paired with homemade Mid-Autumn Festival treats.
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Official Speeches and Launch of Festival
Celebrate the official opening with remarks from invited guests and festival organizers.
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Re-Stitching Tradition: Upcycled Pouch Workshop
Presented by Kabangka with fashion designer Joe Puzon, this hands-on workshop explores Philippine textile heritage through sustainable design. Participants will learn hand-sewing basics and create their own upcycled pouch.
