The Story of Ottopik Enterprises
Twenty years ago, Canadians discovered that singing along with a soundtrack in bars was incredibly fun. Karaoke brought people together, made them laugh, made them cry. Nowadays, people also want to warble, drone, even squeak in the comfort of their own home.
Andy Yeung, owner of Ottopik, will not only set you up with karaoke player, mixer, amplifier, speakers and microphones, but incorporate the lot for your made-to-order home theatre system. Also on hand here are karaoke DVDs—from Classic Chinese opera to Julio Iglesias to Western faves such as Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Hey, party on down! On offer too: classic DVD movie releases—Kurosawa, for instance, including his forgotten film, I Live in Fear—shades of 9/11. Still not satisfied?
Pick up a gift or two from Ottopik’s array. There’s a miniature hand-etched Yixing teapot—dragon-egg-shaped—for your daughter’s collection. At $120, a real steal!
