2026 CHINATOWN WALKING TOUR

with DON KWAN

Overview

Explore Chinatown with Don Kwan on this in-person walking tour. Participants will learn about one of Ottawa’s most diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods, its history, cultures, and architectural details, including public murals, sidewalk art, and of course the Chinatown Arch.

About the walk leader: Don Kwan is an Ottawa-based multidisciplinary artist, third-generation Chinese Canadian, who turns to his own experiences and challenges as a gay, East Asian artist to ground in broader conversations about identity, representations, and inter-generational memory-making in the diaspora. Don weaves his personal experiences and stories into each tour and has been leading walking tours of Ottawa’s Chinatown since 2009.
