Celebrate in the Heart of Ottawa's Chinatown!

The Ottawa Chinatown Business Improvement Area (BIA) is pleased to announce the 2026 Lunar New Year Parade, celebrating the Year of the Horse, taking place in the heart of Ottawa's Chinatown.

This annual celebration is one of Chinatown's most anticipated cultural events, bringing together residents, local businesses, and visitors to experience the richness of Chinese traditions and the vibrancy of our community. The parade will feature lively lion and dragon dances, cultural performances, guest remarks, and a festive procession through Chinatown.

Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade

The Lunar New Year Parade is a celebration of culture, community, and renewal, and is open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to explore Chinatown's shops and restaurants and enjoy the festive atmosphere throughout the neighbourhood.

Festive Treats

To add to the celebration, free tasting of traditional sweet dumplings (Tangyuan) will be served on site while supplies last—symbolizing reunion, harmony, and good fortune in the Lunar New Year.
