Welcome to Chinatown Street Seats!
Chinatown Street Seats is a seasonal outdoor community space in the heart of Ottawa's Chinatown, operating annually from June through mid-October. The space offers free public programming throughout the summer and fall, including cultural performances, live music, workshops, family-friendly activities, community gatherings, and special cultural celebrations.
Located along Somerset Street West, Chinatown Street Seats serves as a welcoming destination where residents, visitors, artists, community organizations, and local businesses can connect, learn, and celebrate. Whether you're interested in exploring Chinese culture, participating in community activities, or simply enjoying time outdoors in Chinatown, there is something for everyone.
The site features unique public art inspired by Chinese culture, including Chinese opera-themed murals and community art installations, creating a vibrant gathering place that reflects the character and heritage of Ottawa's Chinatown.
Chinatown Street Seats is part of the City of Ottawa's Street Seats program and is supported by the Somerset Street Chinatown Business Improvement Area (BIA) and community partners. The space provides a flexible outdoor venue for cultural, educational, recreational, and community programming.
